Dr. Frank Verdone and his family.
Dr. Verdone is an outstanding and kind optometrist who proudly served the Holbrook, New York community for over 20 years.
In the Spring of 2014, Frank was diagnosed with ALS. Due to the progressive loss of his muscle control, he had to stop seeing patients shortly after and has since retired from optometry. He remains active in the optometric community and is admired by many.
He has become an enthusiastic fundraiser for ALS research and an inspirational speaker for the ALS Ride for Life, giving others words of hope and relaying the positive message that people can overcome great odds despite the obstacles in their way.

We are raising money for Frank so that he and his family will be able to make their home more wheelchair accessible. Once an avid runner, Frank now has limited mobility. He uses a walker to keep his balance and to prevent falls. He will soon be using a wheelchair.
All of the money we raise will go directly to the Verdone Family to be used as they see fit towards the reconstruction of their house this Spring 2016.

Dr. Verdone is a wonderful doctor and person. He has helped people his whole life. His outgoing and optimistic personality has touched the lives of many. He is known by the optometric community as an excellent doctor first and foremost and ALS patient way down the list after friend, mentor and colleague. As his friends and colleagues it is time for us to do what we can to honor and help him and his family in their time of need.
