Hi there everyone and thank you for taking the time to read this.
In September 2017, the contract I was working under was awarded to a different company and they chose to not bring any management across. This, unfortunately, included me. While I have been looking for work in that time and I’ve had several interviews, none have been fruitful to date.
In late October, I noticed a wound on the heel of my left foot, which was healing properly for a while. Around Thanksgiving, we noticed it was no longer healing fine, at which point I saw a podiatrist, and under their care, it began healing properly for several weeks.
Right after Christmas, things took a hard turn for the worse, as an abscess was discovered on the left side of the same foot near the wound. Subsequent exploration by the medical team at Shady Grove Adventist hospital discovered a significant infection that had spread fairly quickly.
As a result, I am:
—currently out of work
—unable to look for work
—on lower-end insurance (CareFirst BlueCross/Blue Shield) via the Maryland health exchange,
—looking at IV antibiotics and advanced wound care for 6-8 weeks, either at a rehab facility, at home, or a combination of both.
Our savings are already depleted by the first 4 months of unemployment, and so I humbly turn to you for assistance. All monies raised will be used primarily to pay for the IV antibiotics and advanced wound care that the insurance will not cover, with any excess helping to cover the monthly bills.
I thank you in advance for any assistance you are able to give. I know this is a difficult time of year for many, and with the current state of the economy, many of our resources are stretched kind of thin. Even if you’re not able to donate, the simple act of sharing this campaign on social media, to get the word out that Uncle Grayhawk needs a hand will be greatly appreciated.
