Susan Petroni has been a fantastic source of information about Framingham since she launched Framingham Patch in 2010.
We count on her accurate, professional, local reporting. Many of us turn to her first to get breaking news and find out what is really happening in our community. Due to her relationships, she often has articles that no other media outlet has access to, furthering her credibility.
When Patch/Hale Global let her go as part of a cost-cutting effort, many expressed their displeasure and disappointment.
Susan views this latest change as an opportunity for a new venture and to provide even better local news on a platform that meets Framingham’s needs, without being accountable to an overhead corporation that has other priorities.
Introducing: Framingham Source.
Her vision is: “Launching in April, Framingham Source will be an independent online digital news site accurately and fairly covering the community of Framingham."
This is a call to the community who has loudly rallied behind Susan in the past. She needs your support to get started. The funds raised by this campaign are intended to cover start-up costs and compensate Susan until Framingham Source becomes self-sustaining based upon strong readership and an established advertising base.

1. $25-$49 - A thank you included in the announcing article.
2. $50-$99 - #1 AND a Framingham Source car magnet.
3. $100-$499 - #1, #2 AND an appearance in a visible section of Framingham Source during the first month of operations.
4. $500 or higher – All above thank you’s and a discount on first advertising order from the new site equal to 20% of the donation amount.
Given Susan’s reputation within the Town, the relationships she has cultivated and the quality of her reporting, there is no doubt this endeavor will be successful.
