Up Against Trafficking in Nigeria

Donation protected
My name is Dollin Holt, a campaigner for Up Against Trafficking, and I have created this page to raise funds on behalf of the campaign.

Each year, thousands of women and children, some of whom live in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps, are trafficked out of northeast Nigeria. The attention of traffickers operating in the region is mostly on women and girls, whom they recruit mainly for sexual exploitation. The victims, some of whom are as young as 13, are often taken to Europe, especially Italy, and to the Middle East and North Africa.

Up Against Trafficking, a campaign in northeastern Nigeria founded by Journalist, Philip Obaji Jr., not only raises awareness in IDP camps about human trafficking, it also supports survivors of human trafficking on their journey toward wholeness and healing, and makes clean water available to displaced persons who risk encontering human traffickers when they walk long distances out of their camps in search of water.

Up Against Trafficking needs funds to take its advocacy to other areas of the northeast where human traffickers also operate, and to help survivors in IDP camps like Maryam and Ya Batu (pictured below) who are without jobs, and are still battling with the psychological effects of torture after years as victims of mordern-day slavery and exploitation in Niger and Saudi Arabia respectively.

Your support is essential to help protect women and girls from human traffickers who are desperate to make money off them especially in the prostitution market.

Thank you and best wishes!

Sincerely,

Dollin Holt
