ForgetMeNot Car Safety Project

Donation protected
In the summer of 2010, Lukus Alderman, who is a Children’s Pastor and Special Education Teacher in East Tennessee, became aware of a story of a child left in the car for a long period of time and eventually died of a heat stroke . Lukus called his father, Tom Alderman, heartbroken and mentioned that there should be some way to stop this from happening.

After brainstorming, research and testing, the idea of ForgetMeNot was born.

The idea of ForgetMeNot started as a simple thought to prevent a child being left in a car, but transformed into something much greater.

ForgetMeNot is a safety device that can not only function as a safety device for every living person or animal potentially left unattended inside a vehicle, but it also becomes a state of the art security system for the vehicle.

Using multiple sensors inside the interior of the vehicle it is installed into, ForgetMeNot monitors the climate and “livability” of the environment. When the programmed limits are exceeded, ForgetMeNot starts a sequence of notifications, first to the owner of the vehicle, then to emergency first responders and the closest geographical landline.

ForgetMeNot is destined to be the front runner and leader of a new approach to security: personal and automotive.

ForgetMeNot is campaigning through gofundme to continue our project through the patent process as well as into Washington, D.C., where we have been asked to consult on the writing of the laws currently being considered on automotive safety.
