Chris Saville is a fun loving and brilliant dad, brother, uncle and friend. His sons, Forest (18) and Trent (16) - Chris is a fanatical Nottingham Forest supporter - mean the world to him but sadly all of their lives have been turned upside down by recent events.
Forest and Trent have to make decisions about the future of theirs and their father's lives which no one so young should have to make.
Chris lives in Canada with his sons. He emigrated to Canada to find his fortune at the age of 18 and has done well. He has made lots of friends and created a good life for himself and his boys after divorcing from their mother a few years ago. The boys live with Chris and he is devoted to them.
Two weeks ago whilst on a golfing holiday in Florida with his best mate, Chris choked on his food, blacked out and suffered heart failure. His brain was starved of oxygen for 20 minutes before medics managed to get his heart beating again. He was admitted to hospital in Florida and put into a medically induced coma in the hope that his body would begin to repair itself.
Forest was told by nursing staff that he had to prepare himself to make some tough decisions. Forest has a heavy responsibility placed on his young shoulders.
After a few days Chris was transferred to hospital in his home city of Toronto, where it was hoped that he might begin to make some kind of recovery albeit not to the quality of life he had previously. It was anticipated that if Chris survived, he would be very seriously disabled due to the brain damage he has suffered.
If all the troubles they were experiencing weren't enough, the night the boys returned home, leaving their dad in the hospital in Toronto, a fire broke out whilst they slept. They escaped with their lives and the clothes they stood up in.
Friends of Chris and the boys have been fantastic. Chris has a lot of friends who all want to support the boys by giving them somewhere to stay and emotional support.
Sadly, Chris will almost certainly not make a full recovery and he is currently hanging onto life by a thread. It is hard to imagine how their lives have been destroyed by this totally unexpected turn of events.
Forest and Trent will need funding to live, to eat and to support themselves while they finish their education. They do not know if their dad will survive or if he will be able to come home to them.
Please give anything you can to support Forest and Trent as they deal with this terrible situation and await the fate of their devoted father.
