For the Love of Sue Ellen

$24,139 of $30,000 goal

One week after having the courage to leave her husband, Sue Ellen Anselmo was violently attacked. Her stepson was arrested and charged with attempted murder. Her parents and daughter are now doing everything they can to protect what remains of her life and that of her small children (ages 16 months, 3, 4 and 7 - one being special needs). I am setting up this fund to help them with any expenses that arise for the children, medical or legal needs. Her mom Cindy and daughter Chloe will be the only people with access to this account. They have a long road ahead of them and will need all of the support that we can give. Please be generous in making sure that the thing that mattered to Sue Ellen the most, her children, are protected and safe. Please read the news article here for more information on the tragic event that happened on March 13, 2019. https://www.dailycommercial.com/news/20190315/mother-of-strangling-victim-files-for-guardianship

On behalf of Chloe, Cindy and Jack,  thank you  all for your generosity.

- Cheri Rodriguez (Daughter of Janice, owner of the salon where Sue Ellen worked)

This is a Facebook post from Sue Ellen’s mom, Cindy:

This is my beautiful baby, Sue-Ellen. I was there for her first breath, and yesterday I was there for her last breath. She grew into a beautiful, kind, and loving woman with a dazzling smile that lit up the room. She had a voice like an angel, and she enjoyed singing at church and community events. She was Miss Eustis, Teen Miss Lake County, and America's Little Darling. She loved her children with all of her heart, and she wanted the best for them. Sue-Ellen has been a hair stylist for 21 years, and she dearly loved her clients and coworkers. Her senseless, tragic death has left many broken hearts and lots of questions that may never be answered. There are still many certainties that we can hold onto. God loves Sue-Ellen, and I have no doubt that she is going to raise her baby in Heaven with Him. She had a strong faith that sustained her during difficult times. She always prayed about difficult decisions and waited for God's guidance. Another truth is that God also loves her stepson as much as He loves you or me or Sue-Ellen. God always seeks His lost sheep. I refuse to hate her stepson. She raised him and loved him like her own child. I don't understand what happened, and I am very confused and upset. I will not, however, let hatred and anger ruin my life. Mr. Rogers always said that when there is a terrible tragedy, you should look for the helpers and concentrate on them. That is what I am doing. There has been a tremendous outpouring of love and generosity from the community. The staff at ORMC is amazing. They hugged on us, cried with us, and did all that they could to make the situation bearable. There is no way that I will ever be able to express my gratitude to the nurses, doctors, nursing assistants, risk management, security, and the hospital attorney. I honestly have no idea how I feel or how to navigate the path of losing a child, but I know that God will sustain me with His mighty power and love. Your prayers for justice for Sue-Ellen and strength for those who loved her are still very much appreciated.
