For Bridget's girls secure future

Donation protected

Monday night as we heard the tragic news, we kept asking each other "Are you sure?" "How can that be?" "Maybe it's a mistake?"

Success Academy Bensonhurst community  found itself in disbelief and a deep sorrow as we are trying to process the tragic news about a sudden death of our dear Bridget, a mother of a 3rd grader Olivia and 4th grader Gabriella.

Bridget DeLeon was one of the kindest persons I've ever met. Always willing to help, with a big smile on her face, I can't remember her saying a single bad word about anyone.

She was always the first one to volunteer in her daughters' school and imagining community without her is simply impossible.

17 months ago Bridget's husband Pedro passed away from cancer. Our community's generous donations helped Bridget to cover the funeral expenses and she was forever grateful.

Since then she was taking care of her girls providing them with everything needed: food, home, homework support and LOVE, lots and lots of love.

On Sunday, ironically, as we celebrated Mother's Day, Olivia and Gabriella lost their mother. These innocent souls are orphans now.

So much uncertainty lies in front of them. Big brother Anthony and Bridget's sister, as well as other family members will have to make a lot of decisions on behalf of Olivia and Gabriella in the upcoming months.

As a community we are asking each other what can we do to help.

This fundraiser is the first step. Let's show Bridget's girls that we are here for them TODAY, TOMORROW AND ALWAYS!

THE MOST RECENT UPDATE:

This is a live recorded video during a meeting with the family where custody and financials were discussed. Alla who is a fellow Success Academy parent (where the girls attend), along with Inna Fershteyn ( Pro Bono Will and Trust Attorney) and Leona Kotlyar (girls' dentist) attended this meeting to gain all the pertinent knowledge about the situation so we may continue in our efforts to raise money for the girls. This video was posted so that some questions can be answered for those who are willing to donate. We want everyone to know the family that their money is going to help!

There are multiple sources of where donations are coming from and will go.

Inna Fershteyn has been kind enough to donate her services as a lawyer to set up a trust for the girls. The trust will be called, Bridget's Girls 2018 Irrevocable Trust. If you would like to send a check, it should be made out to:
Bridget's Girls 2018 Irrevocable Trust.

Checks can be mailed or brought to my office:
Dr. Leona Kotlyar
1512 Avenue Z
Brooklyn, NY 11235

or

The Law Offices of Inna Fershteyn
1517 Voorhies Ave, Suite 4
Brooklyn, NY 11235

Once again, no amount is too little!!! These girls are left with nothing to secure their future!

If anyone would like to pay their respects, the funeral will be held on Saturday, May 19th between 4-8 PM
R G Ortiz Funeral Home
5204 4th Avenue
Brooklyn, NY 11220
(718)439-4949

Thank you and please keep these girls in your prayers!!!
