FLL Championship (Team CCC)

Donation protected

We are the Conyngham Code Crackers, a First Lego League team, from the Greater Hazleton Area. We recently won a lifetime opportunity to represent our area (and country) at at the First Lego League International Open Championship in Bath, England!

We are very excited to receive this chance of a lifetime opportunity and anticipate our trip will cost about $15,000, which includes our team's tournament registration, airfare and ground transportation, hotel lodging, meals, event insurance, and additional competition expenses.

We are super excited to now be representing our area and competing on an international level!  Can you please help us make our dream trip a reality?  Our local team is so honored to be representing such a great community and country.

Thank you so much for your support!

What is FIRST Lego League?
Tomorrow’s innovators practice imaginative thinking and teamwork. Guided by two or more adult Coaches, First LEGO League  teams research a real-world problem such as food safety, recycling, energy, etc., and are challenged to develop a solution. They also must design, build, program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS®, then compete on a table-top playing field.

In a nutshell, FLL is a robotics competition and a project competition combined into one of the biggest events in the world! 233,000 children participate each year around the globe. To learn more:

The FLL Open Championship event aims to:
■ Inspire young people and the general public to engage with STEM subjects and activities.

■ Encourage international collaboration and networking.

■ Promote awareness of engineering and encourage more young people to consider careers in STEM.

■ Provide teams from around the world with the opportunity to have fun, engage in a challenging competition and develop a range of key life skills

Who are we?
We are: Jacob, Noah, Nick, Sammy, Ethan, Billy, and Sophie the team named  "The Conyngham Code Crackers".  Robotics means the world to us. We have learned so much over the past few years and aim to make our community better by teaching other kids the value to engage with STEM subjects and activities. Some kids like to compete on a basketball court, we love to compete with bots!

What is the FLL challenge?
Each year a new "theme" is picked around which the robot game is structured and the project portion must follow. This year's challenge is called "Animal Allies" and asks teams to season is all about our furry, feathered, and finned friends. FLL challenges kids to think like scientists and engineers. During the ANIMAL ALLIES season, teams will build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game. They will also choose and solve a real-world question in the Project. Throughout their experience, teams will operate under FLL’s signature set of Core Values  http://www.firstlegoleague.org/challenge

When and Where is the World Championship?
International Open Championship will take place in Bath, United Kingdom on

June 21-25, 2017. Your donation will help pay for cost of lodging and transportation, additional materials required to upgrade our project. Thank you for donating and helping us represent United States in this amazing event.

Your Donation Means the World to Us:
We are trying to bring STEM activities to our area. Your donation to our club would help us offer other events for the community. We would love to offer robotic and engineering workshops for other children. As the program and interest grows in the area, we want to help offer this opportunity to every child that wants to learn how to program!

We are a very small community group. Without your help we will not be able to participate in the championship or continue to build this program in our area. We recently created two robotics groups out the Hazleton Area because the interest in FLL is growing. Next year we hope to start incorporating more students who are ready to learn and participate in robotics.  We will do our best to pay it back to our community and make a brighter future for children of  the Greater Hazleton Area. We can not thank you enough for your generosity.

Thank you for your support in robotics and for us kids, who dream big,
