Cataract surgery for diabetic Angie

Donation protected
Angie is a 7 yr old rat terrier who was abandoned in a local animal control by the only family she had ever known.  She was discovered to have diabetes which was untreated.  Since most animal control facilities don't treat diabetes, it was urgent that she get out.  Rainbow Animal Rescue was notified about her situation and asked to pull her.  One of our previous fosters stepped up to foster her.  She was pulled and taken to our veterinarian to examine and bring current her vaccinations.  She was started on insulin.  Because diabetics also are prone to cataracts we took her for a consult with the ophthomologist.  She has the beginnings of cataracts and it is his recommendation that they be removed as soon as possible because they will sometime progress more rapidly in diabetics than in normal non-diabetic dogs.  With a 20% discount the procedure is $2250 for both eyes.  We don't want her to go blind before we can have her tr eated but we are a small foster-based canine rescue who typically pulls those dogs with medical issues and/or are seniors because they have the least chance of being saved.  We would greatly appreciate all donations to help our sweet girl.  Please donate and if you can't, please share.
Many thanks and blessings
