Fix the statue and help the homeless in Wigan

We would like to raise money to repair the vandalised statue of Dave Whelan. If the club do not wish to use this money, or there is a surplus, then every penny will go to The Brick charity to help them support homeless people and families in Wigan.
As Wigan Athletic fans, we are sick of having our town vandalised by people who we can only presume are also Wiganers and are seeking to damage the good name and reputation of Wigan Athletic FC in our town.
Rather than respond in a negative way, we will do what Wigan Athletic fans always do, which is to use our community positively to help those less fortunate in the town.
Indeed, most fair minded sports fans in the town including Wigan Warriors fans have also been disgusted at this latest incident too, it is not representative of their fanbase either.
Money is tight for everyone but please give whatever gesture you can afford, be that £1, £2, £5 or more if you can afford it.
Please also share this page and together, we will get that FA Cup fixed, raise some vital funds for charity and show that we are better than the pathetic, petty vandals who seek to undermine this town's fine sporting heritage.
