TXST student-athletes deserve more than just a chance to graduate from college. They deserve a chance to be the best they possibly can be in life, academics and in the very sport they love and have committed/sacrificed to represent TXST in. They deserve an Athletic Department that works as hard for them as they do for it.
The purpose of the FireTeis.com banner will be a demonstration of the growing discontent among TXST faithful in regards to the direction of the athletic department. We also hope to use this opportunity to direct the attention of students and alumni to important information regarding the overall performance of athletic director Larry Teis.
This is not an indictment of any particular coach.
This is an indictment of an athletic department that continues to fail in bridging the disconnect between alumni and the athletic department...
This is an indictment of an administration that is failing to keep graduating Bobcats from widening that disconnect.
For failing time and time again in generating interest among our student base in TXST sports.
Texas State students, student-athletes and Alumni deserve better from their school and more specifically, from their Athletic Director.
Our goal is to have a banner with the web URL FireTeis.com flown for roughly 50 minutes thru San Marcos and around Bobcat Stadium at approximately 4pm-5pm on October 27th during the TXST homecoming tailgate.
Costs as quoted to me:
$250 for banner-less flight to and from Taylor airport in north Austin to the airport in San Marcos.
1 hour @ $450/hr towing the banner from the San Marcos Airport.
With take-off and landing in San Marcos, the pilot estimates roughly 50 minutes of visability over San Marcos and the stadium area. If weather or other issues prohibit the flight, i'll issue a refund of donations unless otherwise requested by donors.
