Battle of the Badges ties directly back into our mission of bringing recognition to those who do not receive enough of it, but deserve it the most. Few fall under this category more than Firefighters and Police Officers. Every day these brave women and men not only put their own lives on the line, but the lives of their families and loved ones in the name of service. We are putting on our softball event to thank these heroes for their work. As a group, we decided that no better fund would represent the intentions of this game than the Widows & Orphans Fund for both departments. Both the Fire and Police Departments use this fund to help aid those families affected by losing a loved one in the line of duty. By focusing on this program, we hope, with the help of the great people of Long Beach, to directly say “thank you” for their sacrifice. Both Fire and Police wish to use this event as a way to say thank you to people of Long Beach as well. Thank you for both the continued support and for making this city the incredible place that it is!  Although the main focus of the event is a simple softball game, we hope to use this event to bring the great people of Long Beach together…and to watch some good ol’ boys and girls settle their scores on the field. Come June 26th, anything goes! Play Ball!
