The DePaul Athletic Department has failed students, alumni and fans. It’s been 10 years of consistent losing, bad hiring, and wasting money. Unfortunately, there has been one constant, Athletic Director Jean Lenti Ponsetto. Under Ponsetto she has hired 3 men's basketball coaches with a combined record of 141 and 258.

When she made the strange move to rehire current mens basktball coach Dave Leitao in 2015 after he had been an assistant coach for almost 10 years she said “our expectation is to win now.” Since that statement Leitao is 27-58 making almost 1 million dollars a year.

It’s time for a change in Lincoln Park. The University has not listened to fans over the past 10 years. Sinking ticket sales, declining attendance, negative comments, lack of student support have not gotten the attention of the University to make a change. #firejlp

Our goal is to purchase a full-page advertisement in the DePaulia to get the attention of students and faculty. Please donate so that we can raise enough money to purchase the advertisement.

Fundraising Goal: $800

***If we meet our fundraising goal a second campaign will be created to run an advertisement during the Big East Tournament. More info to be released if goal is met on second round campaign.***

Details below:

-  Advertisement will run in March, running during the BE tournament and   before the NCAA tournament
-  The creative will be a bracket similar to the NCAA tournament
- Focus on JLP’s record over the past 10 years, the record of the coaches she has hired, and the amount of money wasted on coaches salary.
- Full page, color

Thanks to everyone that has supported this fundraiser and donated. It’s unfortunate that it’s reached this point but it’s time DePaul University holds the Athletic Department responsible. Academic accomplishments and a winning Men’s basketball team don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

I have several updates for everyone:
- We officially launched firejlp.com. Check it out and share it with your friends!
- The DePaulia published an article today about our campaign and it made the front page! It has some very telling quotes from JLP and President Esteban. You can read it here http://bit.ly/2HbARwX
- We are working on the DePaulia advertisement this week and have been in active conversations with the DePaulia team about securing the advertisement. They have agreed to publish that advertisement. Our plan is to run it in March during the Big East tournament.
- Additional money donated to the campaign will be used for a second advertisement or targeted social advertisements.

Thanks again for everyone’s continued support. If you have questions, comments, ideas or would like help out feel free to drop me a line at the email hello[at]wavearm.com.
