Help Continue A Portland Legacy

Donation protected
Since 1993 Kent Cumbo, my father,  had served cookies, cakes, scones, crepes, omelets, cinnamon rolls, and killer brownies at the Portland Saturday Market.
Kent worked in food booths for his last 40 plus years. The first food booth was Phoenix Rising which he helped co-found at the Oregon Country Faire.  It is now a Non-profit in Eugene, Oregon.  The second food booth he started was Firebird Sweets, initially started in the Vancouver Farmers Market, then was juried into the Portland Saturday Market in roughly 1993.  He modeled the second booth after Phoenix Rising, making cookies and sweets; and later doing breakfasts for a lot of the vendors and workers of the Portland Saturday Market, just like at the Oregon Country Faire.

He was down at the Portland Saturday Market rain or shine, sleet or snow, through floods and windstorms, he was there every weekend. He was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in Summer of 2013, he went through rounds of chemo and when he had the strength he would still be down there greeting people with a warm smile and stories of DisneyLand. He died in June of 2014, he left his business to my older brother Brenden Cumbo to try and keep his legacy alive.

Brenden kept it open for the rest of the year but it had been too hard on him, physically and emotionally, so he decided to take the 2015 season off. I, Dylan, the youngest son of Kent, decided to step up. I had worked down at the Saturday Market ever since I was able to see over the counter. We went to many festivals as a family growing up where I worked(as well as played) in my childhood. I now have two daughters who I would love to share some of the same memories with that I had with my dad. I want to make his booth as good as he could have imagined it, update it, make it stand out. With your help I may be able to do that. I put the goal at $7,000 but any amount of money would help my dads dreams become a reality. Help me honor my dad.

I want to create a memorial and continue the legacy of the work he loved to do and that thousands of people enjoyed. I also want to create a healthier business that utilizes local farms, and business for higher quality ingredients.

Your money would be going towards:
-Pots, Pans and Knives $300
-New counters $550
-New/updated equipment $900
-New signage $300
-Used box truck or cargo van $3000
-A New Business license $100
-New Tarps $400
-Portland Saturday Market fees $300
-Comissary Fees $700

Grand Total of $7000

With your help I can help my dads legacy continue and flourish. Thank you so much for your support.
