Fire Fund for Felipe and Marcela

We have been friends of Felipe and Marcela for many years, they are like family to us. They are hardworking, generous and gracious people who also happened to be some of the best hosts & cooks in La Ribera.
In the early morning hours of Sunday, December 18, 2016 , a beloved establishment - La Trinidad Restaurant - was lost in a fire of unknown origin. Felipe and Marcela, who took over management of La Trinidad after Mike O'Dells passing ... lost all of their investment - food, alcohol, personal cooking items and much more in the fire. They also had no insurance. For all those who have enjoyed their food and company over the years, you can understand what a loss this is.
This fund is to help Felipe and Marcela recoup a small percentage of their losses and hopefully gather some seed money to start a new restaurant in a different location.
Even a little money would be a great help at the moment. Our goal of 5000 USD will not cover a majority of the family's loss in the fire, however it will help them keep their head above water while they figure out what to do next.
We hope that all those who have had one of their rib eye steaks, Mexican buffet or even just a cocktail or two can donate even a few dollars to help them out.
Please note, this is NOT a fundraiser to rebuild La Trinidad, but to help these two amazing people who lost not only their inventory, but their place of employment; and the only job they've had for the last several years.

We cannot imagine how it must feel ... to suffer through the loss of a business that you have worked at for the past several years and successfully managed that business since Mike's passing.
