Our dad had to take early retirement in 2017 due to complications from his leukemia. September he lost his insurance as he couldn’t keep up with the almost $1000 a month cobra copay.
He doesn’t qualify for Medicare until January 2020.

The past few months he’s lost a lot of weight and has been battling bouts of pneumonia.

He ended up seeing a new oncologist referred to him by the Mayo Clinic oncologists. I’m not going to go over everything but he’s worse.. A lot worse

They cleaned his chest port and flushed it. He needs to start chemo and go on a home regimen of medications. They want to do a CAT. My guess is to look at the mass that was found on his lung ...

Growing up my dad worked as an over the road truck driver. He was a dedicated volunteer fireman of 32 years. He was gone a lot.
He always dreamed of getting ahead and taking us kids on a family vacation. Sadly it never happened. Yeah, we were the typical working poor family. When he was home he made snow hills with the tractor so we could sled in the yard. In the summer we fished. If he was home on Fridays we ate pizza and watched TGIF. Saturday was grocery shopping day where he’d buy 10 pound bag of popcorn that we’d eat while watching Sunday wrestling. We had a few memorable camping trips.
As he got older and found a better job driving truck for the teamsters he looked forward to retirement. He was going to travel. After being forced to take early retirement in 2017 due to his cancer and then losing his insurance and his health decline the reality of his dreams coming true have faded.

Our overall goal and first priority is to take the money raised and purchase health insurance, pay medical debt....

If anyone wants to offer something for the silent auction that we will hold at the benefit please feel free to contact me. If you have a company that would like to offer a banquet room please contact me. If you would like to help put the benefit together please reach out.

Recap- The primary purpose of the money raised will go for dads medical care

I’ll do updates when chemo starts ❤️
