Sheila Bridger and Family
This past Tuesday evening, Sheila's family home on Middle Road in Victoria, B.C., caught on fire.

Early Wednesday morning around 5:00 a.m., Sheila showed up at my door in her pajamas.  I soon learned about the devastating fire that had tore through her home.. Causing significant damage.

She had No Home, No Clothes and No Shoes.  She was absolutely exhausted and shaking from the shock of it all.

Sheila has raised her twin Grandsons, ( one with Congenital Heart Disease who has had 3 open heart surgeries), and is the prime caregiver to her terminally ill husband, Bill....who in 2014, underwent a quad triple heart bypass, suffering a stroke, which left him legally blind.  Being the Trooper that she is, Sheila just kept marching forward, doing whatever she could to ensure a happy environment for her family members.

The impact that the fire has had on this family is devastating. Life as they knew it, just turned on a dime.  The family at present are separated, with each person staying in different places.  The comfort and security of their three bedroom home is now totally destroyed.  No longer fit to live in.

While trying to navigate through the maze, it is taking it's toll on Sheila's health, which is already compromised by Fibromyalgia.  A disorder that affects the muscles with symptoms of chronic pain, fatigue and sleep problems.  The overwhelming stress of the displacement of the family is tremendous.  Her husbands routine disrupted, the twins life turned up side down, and Sheila's health is paying the price of this devastating fire.

Sheila is a Wonderful Lady who has always cared and supported others in their time of need.  Now she herself and her family are in need for care and support.  Thank you in advance for your thoughtfulness.

Fire Disaster, Family of 4...……..Current Update: Nov.29/2018
Sheila Bridger and Family
Fire destroyed Sheila's family mobile home on October 23rd, 2018. We want to thank the many people who reached out with their support and thoughtfulness. Believe me, It meant the world to the family and it showed that people do really care about one another.

However, TO DATE: The family is still separated and sleeping on peoples couches. The IMPACT this fire has had on the family is beyond belief.

Tuesday, November 26th/18 , Sheila stood outside and watched what was left of her family home , being demolished. What a sad situations.

Disruption in a families life is always difficult, but when you are a Victim of a Crime, it is even more cruel.

This past month, "Sheila", (who is 64 years old), is suffering from pneumonia, And has had Cortisone Injections in her hip to help the pain subside. She continues on her mission to find an affordable housing for her family. And it is NOT going very well at all.

Day after day, Sheila pounds the pavement looking for accommodations for her family.... She has been to numerous places, AND has filled out piles and piles of applications...…. To No Avail.

The Biggest hurdle AND obstacle right now for Sheila, is finding a suitable, affordable, safe place to live for her family...

I am once again reaching out to the public, in hopes that someone would be able to help with housing. Sheila and her family are very clean and responsible people and would look after your place, for sure.
Please keep in mind we are not looking for any hand outs. We are simply looking for a place to call home.

I can tell you one thing.... The greatest gift of all would be to reunite her family. That would be the BEST Christmas ever. I may be praying for a miracle, but I believe miracles can happen.

Thank you for reading this letter. You take care and Blessings to all.
Kind Regards,

My name is Sylvia York and I am the sister of Sheila Bridger, as well as Godmother to her twin Grandsons. All funds will be deposited into a mutual account that I share with my sister. Any funds that I personally may withdraw will be for the sole purpose in purchasing items to help them rebuild and/or for a new place to live.
Again I want to reiterate that any funds that I withdraw will be for the sole purpose of purchasing items for the family. And any balance remaining from those purchases will be redeposited back into the account that I share jointly with my sister. Which I may add, that Sheila has full access to the account.
I am and will continue to be, the one that manages the Go Fund Me page, as my sister has lost everything and access to a computer/internet is difficult for her at this time. Thank you.
