Help us find our Big Brother Jon!
Our dear big brother Jon is missing in Dublin.
Jon Throstur Jonsson is a caring father, son, fiancé and a wonderful human being who has been missing since 09/02/19 and was last seen in Whitehall, Dublin.
Jon went to Dublin on a holiday with his fiancée and disappeared around 11 am on Saturday 9 February a short walk from his hotel.
Jon left the Bonnington Hotel at 11.05am on 09/02/2019. He was seen on CCTV at McGettigan’s bar at 11.07am, exiting onto the Swords Road heading northbound towards the Airport. Jon was last seen at the exit of Highfield Hospital heading northbound on the Swords Road towards Collins Avenue. He is 1.84m (6") tall, with short brown hair and of medium build. He was last seen wearing a black padded jacket.
The Garda police are enquiring if taxi drivers may have seen Jon at his last known location (close to the junction of Swords Roads/ Collins Avenue at 11.07am on 09/02/2019), and if they might have ‘Dash Cam’ footage of this area for this time.
Jon's disappearance comes as a complete shock to us and we have spent every waking hour since his disappearance searching for him all over Dublin. We are desperate for any information regarding his whereabouts.
We are putting all of our trust in the public to help us with any clues that can result in finding him! We are eternally grateful for the help we have received and we continue to gratefully accept assistance, in any way shape or form.
About 10 family members and friends have flown to Dublin in order to help with the search, which consists of printing and spreading posters and flyers in Dublin and speaking to people with the aim of getting the most reach. We need everyone in Ireland to know that we are searching for him so that he can be found!
We are seeking assistance to help find Jon. There are three ways for you to help.
1. Support the search financially by donating to this campaign. This will cover housing cost for the searchers from Iceland, printing cost for flyers and posters, as well as Jon's financial obligations at home.
2. Help us spread the flyers around the country, please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be in touch.
3. Help us spread the word and raise awareness, e.g. by sharing the link to this campaign. Someone, somewhere must have seen him in the past 10 days!
We will not stop until we find Jon!
Anyone with information is asked to contact Ballymun Garda Station on 01-6664400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
We urge you to share this link, they are pdf documents that anyone can print out and hang up in their local area! <3
We would deeply appreciate your assistance!
Today and over the weekend we will be launching the "Have you seen my brother" campaign to spread the word about Jon's disappearance as widely as possible!
People of Ireland are urged to have all eyes on Jón Jónsson
Jón Þröstur Jónsson has been missing since the 9th of February 2019, we are appealing to the public of Ireland to help in the search for our dear Jón!
A recent and extensive search by the Ireland Civil Defense of the immediate area where Jón was last seen in Whitehall, North Dublin, resulted in the conclusion that it is highly unlikely that Jón is in Whitehall.
The ‘Have you seen my brother’ campaign is an effort to make everyone in Ireland aware that we are desperately searching for Jón Jónsson and we need your help!
<3 <3 We’re encouraging people to print Jon’s poster and display it in as many different places as possible, including at their workplace, in their car window, at tram and bus stops, and at sporting events. <3 <3
The link to the posters can be found here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=152oMZfIjMZj6PQsBB_WbFEsxjhnQkQzQ
We hope that with so many people helping to get Jon's picture out there all at once, the right person might see it!
All our love and gratitude for the help and support!
Today the Civil Defence started searching for Jón!!
This is a great milestone for us as we have been striving for this for what seems like forever now. This is a great group of people that are fantastic at what they do and we are so thankful!
They searched today at a 1km radius from where Jón was last seen, without results which is good news! That means that Jón is at least not in that area so we can now move on to other areas without a doubt.
We will be planning out different theories to where he may have gone from this point and mapping out accordingly.
Garda is still following up on leads from our big search and the Crime Call show and we are hopeful that a couple of leads may help us figure out where Jón went after he was last seen on camera.
We feel so optimistic that we will get somewhere with these leads and the help from Civil Defence!
Again, we can't thank you all enough for the overwhelming support we have received over the past 2 weeks roughly.
We will be forever grateful for all your kind words and support in whatever form it has come to us.
The current situation with the search for our beloved Jón is that we are letting Garda (the irish police) do their work after the big search last Saturday. There is a lot of information to go through and a lot of tips and calls that they got both from after the search and during the Crime Call show.
This is something that takes a long time and can't be rushed because there may be vital information there.
As hard as it is waiting for something to come up, we will have to wait to see what they find.
In the mean time we are still searching for Jón, we are still following a guided map and working with any theories we have in our hands for where he may have gone. Those are all only theories because that is the only thing we can work from until we find some new clues.
We are MORE determined than EVER to find Jón!
Whatever and however long it takes, we will find our dear Jón and bring him home. <3 <3
