Fighting For Skylend's Friendly Flock

Donation protected
About 3 weeks ago we took in a rescue budgie that was in desperate need of a home. In attempts to protect the rest of the flock from unknown illness, the Bird entering our home was kept away from the rest of the Flock and quarantined. We did everything that we could to keep any unknown illnesses from being passed onto Skylend and his flock, which consists of 7 Budgies and 2 Cockatiels. After the rescue budgie was in our home for about 11 days, a budgie flock member suddenly became ill. He was showing serious signs of respiratory distress. Panting, holding wings out to his side, heavy breathing, and beak clicking. He was rushed to the doctor and put on Baytril that same morning. Because of a Budgies size, we opted out of any testing because of the risks. The next day, the rescue budgie was observed closely for signs of respiratory distress. They were there, and she had been hiding them very well. We had found the carrier in our little rescue bird. She too was treated with Baytril. That same day, the rest of the remaining budgies began to show severe symptoms within a few hours. They seemed to come on out of no where. They would be fine one minute, and struggeling to breathe the next. Each one was put on Baytril by the vet that day. Some of the budgies seemed to respond immediately to the medication. Some have fought very hard and struggle to breathe daily. Some have gotten better and then worse again. We have returned to the vet to be prescribed more Baytril, and an inhalent antibiotic has been ordered to treat all 8 Budgies. This may require several weeks of treatment. Each order will cover them for about 8 days and costs around $115.00/week. We need to put the struggle to breathe to an end. We are having to purchase heavy duty cleaners, steamclean carpets and furniture and toss and replace most perches, toys and everything wooden. We are making a way for anyone who would like to contribute to the recovery and restoration of what this flock once was. We appreciate the support, love, and more than anything, your prayers. This flock is our family. They are my precious little feathered children and siblings to my 3 children. We need for them to survive. We need to provide the medical treatment they need and deserve, and we need to give them back their lives as quickly as possible. This has been an incredibly stressful time, but we are not giving up hope that we will find the right treatment and that each and everyone of them will fully recover because of the love that is surrounding them and the prayers that are sustaining us all. God Bless Each And Everyone of You!
