Fighting for Angel Perez
Loving father and husband Angel Perez is fighting for his life and limbs at the age of 60. After crabbing in Matt’s Landing, New Jersey he developed Vibrio Necrotizing Fasciitis , a flesh-eating bacteria that has caused him to be hospitalized since July 3, 2018. This flesh eating bacteria in conjunction with Angel’s exsisting battle with Parkinson’s Disease has made this this taxing journey. We are raising funds to help pay for the medical bills, travel to and from the hospital, and other expenses associated with Angel’s hospital stay. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/to-your-health/wp/2018/07/10/a-man-went-crabbing-and-came-back-with-flesh-eating-bacteria-that-now-threatens-his-life/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.80ca421f29e4+ Read More

Hello everyone I just wanted to update you on my dad! He’s doing well and was fitted and finally given his prosthetics! He began to gain weight and eat normally again but unfortunately he is fueled his swallow test and is aspirating silently. His prosthetics will also need to be refitted because they are very tight on him and uncomfortable! He is truly optimistic and energetic. I was told today by my step mom that he’s been climbing in and out of bed by himself! I told her he was going to have big muscles!! Lol! He is a trooper and has been trying to pick things up and be independent. He doesn’t always make the glass with the straw to his mouth and you know the outcome of that but he laughs and remains positive! He’s not giving up nor is my step mom who is with him day and night outside of her working hours! I just returned to work after four months of family leave and it feels weird not seeing him almost daily like before but I know that he is in good hands and that everyone’s prayers are still coming ! Thank you all for your support, messages and donations. We appreciate you all!!

My dad was discharged from Cooper and went home. He wasn’t at home for a complete day and started to feel ill. He wasn’t able to swallow well and was collecting a lot of segregation’s in his mouth in throat so we took him back to the hospital. He was admitted to Vineland inspira with Pneumonia. They have him antibiotics and we continues to work on auctioning our the secretions after about 5 days he was able to be discharged. His kidneys are doing well and the fluids in his lungs due to aspiration are cleaning up and under control. He was discharged to a rehab facility because we wanted him to receive physical therapy, Speech therapy to strengthen his swallow and to be around others who are going through smiliar things. We are hoping to get the process for prosthetics going and also look into a wheel chair that has lager tires and will allow him to roam around his property.
