Our son Superhero Julian was diagnosed with brain cancer at the tender age of 2. The tumor was found on his brain stem which is surgically impossible to remove. The prognosis was not good, but Superhero Julian was not afraid and began his heroic battle. When he was only given months to live, Superhero Julian has defied all odds and continues his fight 4 years later. In these past 4 years, Julian has endured and persevered through more than any child or any human should ever have to, but HE did. And he did it in a way that it can only be described as something that could only be been done by a superhero with supernatural powers.
As of today he has exhausted all standard chemotherapies available for children and adults, underwent 7 weeks of radiation therapy and 2 brain surgeries/biopsies. The results of his last biopsy in October revealed that the cancer progressed from a low grade to an aggressive grade 4 tumor.
Now our Superhero is in perhaps his biggest battle, and we face the possibility of losing our son. Acceptance into a clinical trial is our last medical treatment option to try to stop the tumor from growing. Everyday that passes we have seen Julian's health worsen. It has been so difficult to see our energetic outgoing free spirited boy go from running around one week and to not being able to walk without assistance the next. There is a pain deep in our hearts that never goes away. We can't bear the thought of living life without our Superhero. As a parent the worse feeling in the world is to see your child sick, and all we want to do is to figure out ways to make him happy and feel better. We would turn the world upside down to find a cure for him but due to financial constraints we are unable to afford other alternative treatments or travel to see other specialist with other treatments.
This GoFundMe account was created to help us to give our son a better fighting chance, medical expenses and to bring as many smiles to his face, just as he has done for hundreds of other children with cancer through his annual Superhero Julian Toy Drive. We don't know what tomorrow may bring but we trust in God and have faith that our prayers will be heard.
We want to deeply thank everyone that has continued to support and pray for Julián during his ongoing battle with cancer. Julián has shown all those that love him, that he truly is deserving of being called a super hero. Words cannot express how lucky we are to have your love and support. Your blessings help us keep moving forward.

Superhero Julian update 5/13/18
The day has been filled with mixed emotions but I got say it's been more on the positive side. Julian has been showing signs of improvement. Although the doctors didn't really give us much in terms of medical reassurance that there would be any improvement, Julian is showing again his will to fight and making some progress. He is still in the ICU and there is still a big mountain to climb but he is giving it his all to get over it. He has opened his eyes and nodded his head in response to questions. These small gestures of today have been huge for us and are perhaps the greatest gift mommy has ever gotten on Mother's Day. Violet Tovar Roque Mommy had smiles from cheek to cheek, happiness in her voice and tears of joy from receiving these amazing gifts of love from our Superhero. Thank you all for your continued support through our journey and continue to pray for Julian.

Superhero Julian update 5/12/18:
Yesterday was a very difficult day. Seeing our little boy in such a critical state not being about to breath on his own is heartbreaking. Doctors told us to prepare ourselves as this may be his time and we need to make medical treatment decisions. Although this is very difficult, with God by our side we know all is in his hands. Julian was given medication to ease any discomfort and stabilize his heart rate and breathing. He was unresponsive from the time he was moved from the ER to the ICU approx. 9am Friday. Little did the doctors know who they were dealing with. Thank the Lord, almost 20 hours later at about 4:30 this morning Superhero Julian opened his eyes and was responsive. We were overwhelmed with so much emotion and thankful that he is making progress. He still not out of it's all but definitely a huge win and blessing to know he is still fighting. He will still be on the breathing machine as he continues to get better. We hope that he eventually is removed from it and breathing on his own. Thank you all for your prayers as we know for a fact that they truly continue to lift him and give him strength.
