"I asked myself why did this happen in OUR section?! I didn't know what to do, but deep down in my heart I was hurting seeing that rhino lying helpless, killed for it's horn....
....you must remember if a rhino is poached under your supervision there's a lot of suspense; and as a young field ranger like me, it can make or break your career....
.... this human tracking training will enable us to see clearly where and how the poachers came and to follow them if they're inside the park as they intend to do camping within the park ."
-Lead Ranger in undisclosed APU in South Africa
Fight for Rhinos received a plea for help from a small (APU) anti-poaching unit in southern Kruger National Park.
This ranger, like many on the frontlines of the poaching war, is frustrated, and in urgent need of help to fight against the scourge of poaching that not only threatens an entire species, but his career and family.
The group has basic training, but is inexperienced with HUMAN tracking. In order to prevent more loss of rhino, and for the safety of the rangers, we are seeking funds to send them to an Anti-Poaching Tracking Course .
Time is of the essence, as once there is a successful poaching, word spreads. It's not a question of IF it will happen again, but WHEN.
Please see more of their story here.
It is our goal to send these men to this crucial training in March of this year, 2016.
Please help.
