Gracies Journey

Grace was born with something special about her, it wasn't until she was 18 months old that the doctors jumped on board. We began adding therapist and then specialists to the Gracie's Journey team. First came the dx of Hypotonia, then hip ligament laxity. We knew these were sub-dx and there was something far greater causing the muscle weakness. It caused her to walk with her toes inward, frequent falling, severe pain in the lower extremities and more. Next came the dx of Muscular Dystrophy, Congenital Myopathy to be exact. We began to educate ourselves and treat as needed. Then came her diagnoses of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome which began to explain why she's been in chronic pain for many years. Her body just can not do it some days. She isnt depended on a wheelchair daily but does require one for extended trips and adventures. Dhe deserves mobility and independence. She is a very happy little girl who just wants to enjoy her life and adventures too. We will be going on a once in a lifetime trip via The Dream Factory of Louisville in October and this trip will require a custom wheelchair for her comfort.
