ProjectHERA is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization formed in 2017 to support women, specifically young girls in music!
We are founded and centered around empowering, connecting, and supporting women in music, as well as acting as a resource and outlet for younger girls to chase their musical dreams! We host live music events, including a yearly all ages music festival that showcases female talent. Through educational workshops, an all ages monthly open mic, and an instrument donation program, our mission is to inspire and encourage young girls to pursue music in a male dominated industry.
Since forming in 2017, we have hosted over 30 events, which have celebrated, promoted, and connected multiple female musicians in and around the DC metro area.We are a small organization that strives to keep our events inclusive and accessible. To help us grow and continue to do this, we need your help! No amount is too small and every penny goes towards the efforts to provide girls with opportunities to perform, bringing the community together and strengthening the music and arts scene as a whole.
This year's music festival will be on Sunday, September 22, at City Winery in DC. We need YOUR help to successfully host this event. Your support will allow us to provide quality sound engineers, compensation for over 30 acts, accessibility to the youth, advertising, promotions, vendor access and more. We are a passionate group of women who are attempting to meet a need in our local community and hope you’ll find our mission as important and we do!
Our future goal is to grow this festival into a yearly Woodstock-style event that the whole family can attend, where we can showcase female performers, female sound engineers, vendors, etc. - an entire effort for women, by women!
