In Loving Memory of Felicidad Hipol
On March 12, 2017, Felicidad Hipol passed away after 7 years of a courageous battle with lung cancer. Felicidad was a vibrant, charismatic, generous, loving, and compassionate woman. She dedicated most of her life serving others and was also the rock of her family. After her husband was diagnosed with a chronic illness, she became the sole breadwinner for her family. Down the road, her daughter was diagnosed with lupus and she took care of both her husband and daughter while also supporting her son through his endeavors. On top of taking care of her family, she still made time to volunteer in her community. She played a pivotal role in the Utah community with her participation in Pilipino American Association of Utah (PAAU), the Asian Association of Utah, and Misang Bayan. She had a positive impact in preserving Filipino culture and traditions by her countless hours of service in the local community. During her battle with cancer, she was still able to impact the community by serving others through volunteering for Meals on Wheels, the Good Samaritan Program, and helping everyone she knows. Through her roles in these organizations, she was most recently recognized in December 2016 with the “Spirit of the Community Award” from UOCA-Asian Pacific American Advocates of Utah. She was a devoted, loving mother, wife, mentor, and friend that you could always count on.
The donations of $20,000 will go towards her funeral and burial costs. Any additional funds raised will be donated to the Felicidad Hipol Scholarship Fund which will be awarded through the PAAU organization. The Felicidad Hipol Scholarship will benefit local students pursuing a college career. Her legacy will carry on and help future generations with this scholarship.
