Teeth for Tom!

Donation protected
Synopsis: Tom is 29 years old. He was diagnosed with cancer at 15 years old and due to the various amounts of medication required to treat his many ailments derived from years of cancer treatment, he has lost the majority of his teeth. With a new, permanent set of teeth being very costly, we have received a very generous donation from Dr. P.K. Clark of WhiteCap Institute who has graciously offered to perform the procedure of permanent teeth replacement. However, there are approx $15,000 in hard costs (out of a $50K+ procedure) that he has asked that we help cover. We are reaching out to our family and friends in hopes that you can help us raise the money necessary for Tom to receive a new set of teeth.

Story: Tom, was diagnosed with cancer (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) at 15 years old. After 4 years of chemotherapy  and various treatments, he went into remission. At 22 years old, the cancer returned and Tom was approved for a Bone Marrow Transplant. The transplant was successful in removing the cancer, but has caused various other medical conditions that he continues to fight and recover from today.

He is now 29 years old and, although cancer free, he has incurred many other challenges with the side effects of the medications as well as from the cancer itself. His once 5'10" frame is now a frail 5'1" and his teeth have started to decay and rot away from the many medications he has to take. He will never regain his height, but he can most certainly regain his confidence and build his self esteem with a new smile!  :)

Tom won, by majority and popular vote, a contest for a new set of teeth. However, in the end, the dental practice chose another contestant as the 'official' winner.  Tom was devastated. What is required for him to have a full set of teeth is a very costly procedure - more than $50K.

Dr P.K. Clark, of WhiteCap Institute, has graciously offered to donate the majority of the cost. This will include the removal of all his remaining teeth, setting implants, bone grafts, temporary dentures as we wait for his mouth to heal, then finally, a permanent set of full mouth implants - the best available.  He has asked that we cover a small portion of his hard costs.

Tom is currently on disability and does not receive much for income. We are reaching out to our family and friends in hopes that you are able to donate, however large or small, to help elevate the financial strain and get him a new set of teeth that he is so deserving of. We appreciate any all donations. Please share.

***100% of proceeds will be given to WhiteCap Institute. Tom's dad, David Card, is the beneficiary of these funds as he will be making the payment directly to WhiteCap.
