I’m starting this because people are asking where they can send cash and supply donations for so many different things on the fire. The money collected on here will go to the owner of the 200 head that survived the fire. They might need to buy hay for just under a year to support the cattle at their short and long term homes until the fields grow back and fences get rebuilt. The family is very grateful for everyone’s help.

Adult Cows eat approx 25 lbs of hay a day. 250 cattle x 25 lbs = 6250 lbs of hay a day approximately. 6250 lbs daily/2000 lbs per ton = 3.25 tons a day.  3.25 tons x 30 days monthly = 97 tons monthly. 97 tons monthly x 6 months = 585 tons.  585 tons x $200 per ton = $117,000 for feed.

These are are not exact I’m just trying to show how quickly this will add up.

im starting the go fund me account at the $10,000 to help get the hay for the cattle for the immediate need and for the winter months.

Please help with what you can. Me, the family and the cattle thank you in advance.

Hi everyone,

As this winds down I’d like to thank everyone again for their generousity. I’m so amazed at the flood of support our community was offered during this incident.

I feel so honored to have been tagged in the oringal post when they initially asked for land for the cattle. From there it snowballed into this gofundme account that ended up on news stations ... I don’t even know how far it got.

I’m humbled by all of this. And I’m excited to take your donations to him to offer some relief for him .

My plan is to write the owner a letter that I’ll tape to a large envelope that will have the money in cash in it. I’ll post a picture so you can all see what you done. Then it will be given to him.

I’m going to let the account settle for a while longer because there are still donations coming in. Once the majority has transferred to my account I’ll be taking it to him.

Once again thank you. Each one of you.

Much love coming your way

They’re going to a small, clean field with clean water and then will eventually moved do their winter hold property!! We did it!! The need for hay is still dire!! The owners fields burned so he still has to buy winter hay. So please don’t hesitate to keep this moving it VERY much a need. And again .... thank you all!! - Risi, the cattle and the farmer!!

Time for an update.

Look at it this way. If 1500 people were to donate $100 these cattle would not have to worry about a meal until next spring. makes this sound way more achievable to me.

You guys are doing great!! Thank you so much... each of you.

The cattle are being moved to the small peice of clean acreage even as I type this. The farmer is still searching for missing cattle. There are awesome plans in the works for helping him with that. Drones and media helecopter footage. If you see arial pictures of cattle or other animals on or around the Substation Fire footage please let me know at risihoward@yahoo.com so we can get those photos to the farmers to help them get those cows or animals some help.

Your all truely amazing for helping.

Me, the farmer and the cattle thank you in advance.
