Team up to help those in need

My name is Rae and I am the director of Our Backyard Missions in north Columbus, Ohio.  This homeless and low income ministry seeks to serve  the underprivileged by providing basic necessities like well-balanced meals, seasonal clothing, toiletries and sleeping materials.

Our volunteer team provides a balanced lunch every Saturday by sending 2 to 3 driving teams out to deliver those meals and supplies to individuals who have asked for help.

Most of the food and provisions are paid for from our pockets and a few other donations. As you can imagine, the population we serve continues to grow, but our resources do not. We currently serve 89 individuals, but that number could grow with your help. We cannot help everyone, but, by the grace of God, we can help some. 
The annual cost to provide for these people is $13,000. With your financial assistance, we can be a team to reach more people in need. All of your donations will go directly to providing food and supplies to the people who need it most. Everyone who volunteers in this ministry does so without compensation.
The sooner we reach our financial goal, the sooner more people can be added to our recipient list and the sooner more people can be helped with basic life needs.
It is difficult for us to turn people away, but right now we are struggling to meet all the current needs.  
Our encouragement to you is to be thankful everyday for what you have, like electricity, running water, a warm and dry bed and a roof over your head.
None of us know when we may be in need of basic needs like food, shelter and clothing.                             So, our motto is:
"There but by the grace of God go I."
