FBC Georgetown Restoration

Donation protected
Since 1862, First Baptist Church, Georgetown has been a beacon of hope and spiritual refuge for all who seek the Lord.

Today, First Baptist Church, Georgetown remains committed to reaching others through Christ and promoting Christian unity in our community and world. Our efforts to restore our church edifice are central to this mission. Like many churches, we face the high cost of maintaining an historical structure in an urban environment, combined with demographic changes, which make it challenging to be located in the city.

The Restoration of First Baptist Church will go through several phases.  The first phase includes the following:
1). Reconstruct the masonry at crack locations; 2). Reconstruct the brick masonry chimneys.  Install metal vents over the chimneys to prevent animals from entering; 3). Replace gutter at the perimeter of the steep-sloped roof. 4). Install reglet-set counterflashing above the top edge termination of th water table flashing to improve waterproofing performance;  5.) Reconstruct portions of the corbeled masonry below the gutter; 6). Test the coating applied to the walls and the paint and sealant at windows for hazardous materials.  Develop an appropriate abatement program if necessary;  7). Remove loose paint from existing windows.  Prepare and repaint the windows.  Repair, replace and repaint heavily damaged/deteriorated wood.

Your donation will help FBCG with our restoration efforts.  Please make a donation today and thank you for your support!
