Help Start a Music School in Fargo

Nik and I have always dreamed of working together and helping people make music. We want to create a space that empowers, connects, and celebrates local musicians.
We have found a space that can hold a stage for musician performances, several rooms for teaching individual and group lessons, space for Nik to sell his guitars, and space for Nik's guitar workshop where he will hand-make custom guitars and hold guitar-making workshops. We are connecting with local musicians to provide lessons of a variety of instruments to students of all ages.
Teaching has been a way for us to make a living doing what we love, and to connect with other musicians.
Nik has been teaching guitar for 23 years. He has taught previously at Concordia College, Ohio University, Kirkwood Community College, and the University of Iowa. He holds an M.A. in Jazz Composition from the University of Iowa. He makes custom guitars and teaches students of all ages in his store, Gruber Guitars.
Emily has been playing music for 20 years and teaching for 10. She currently teaches 20 students in her private music studio in downtown Fargo. Music has always played a huge part in her life and has helped carry her through tough times as well as has proven to be a great asset in meeting friends, travelling the world, and making her own living. Emily is a huge fan of people being their own boss and wants to help other musicians make a living by teaching and making music in the community.
The money we raise will go towards:
-rent and deposit of the space in downtown Fargo
-buying teaching supplies, such as music stands, chairs, music, printers and paper, desks, sound insulation, and more
-startup costs of a business, such as preparing the space, insurance, website, phones, and more.
