Kittens in Colony Need Neuter/Food

Donation protected
For two months I worked at a concrete plant which houses a colony of feral cats. One in particular captured my heart, a sweet natured little thing that one of the laborers had named Daisy. This little cat gives me such joy when she sits by me, eating from a dish next to me with such a contented expression on her face. Whether or not it is imagination, it warms my heart to see such a thankful little creature.

And so herein lies the saga of little Daisy and what has turned out to be quite an expansive society of beautiful cats and kittens....and more kittens.....and more kittens. This colony seems to be somewhat intertwined with two or three others in the area, one of them larger than this one. I was able to take Daisy to my cat's veterinarian to be spayed, and she has been returned to her little kingdom. She did not show any signs of adapting to being inside and spent hours crying for her kittens so I brought her back; she is a happy little creature.

As of today's update....October 13....there are 12 kittens! I know that Daisy is the mother of at least five; each new discovery of yet another kitten had my head spinning until today when I discovered a second mother.

Every day I go there to feed them twice a day; no matter when I go, they have eager, healthy appetites.  The guy at the plant who was helping to feed them is no longer there, and so I am on my own. God has given me amazing favor there; I have everyone's permission to continue being on the property to feed the cats; one guy actually leaves the building and the warehouse doors open for me in case I get there after everyone is gone. His only request is that I lock up when I leave.

If anyone's heart is moved to help me, help is greatly appreciated. My veterinarian was going to work with me when there were three kittens; at this point, she has referred me to low cost clinics. Regardless of where they are spayed, my heart cannot simply put them right back out in that filthy junk yard. They need some time to mend and to see if they are inclined to stay indoors.

Not only do I need help with medical expenses that are soon upcoming, but with food! I do not know how I will continue to feed them all; I have been buying 3 or 4 dozen tall cans of Friskies Poultry Pate every three days. One of the pet stores had a run on coupons for free full-size bags of kibble, and that stash is just about gone.

Thank you so much for listening. Please take the situation to prayer and see how the Lord would have you help out. Foster homes in the Nesconset/Smithtown/Lake Grove and surrounding area would be a great blessing.

Daisy has her own FB page, Daisy and the Kits, where the photos and videos have become a daily joy to many. Please visit and get to know the kittens; they will capture your heart.

Blessings
