The Hunt Goes On For Mark Worrell

Donation protected
My name is Janet and my Uncle Mark “Squirrel” Worrell was diagnosed in January 2016 with cancer. He has stage 4 lung cancer and Lyme disease. Due to his condition Mark is unable to work and be able to provide for his family. His wife Barbara (whom he loves deeply) has been by his side during this difficult time. Barbara has been unable to work her regular hours. Barbra is standing by my uncle's side to provide a strong support and attend to her husband’s rapid declining health. His son Mark Jr. (which he is so proud of) has moved back into the home to help with the overwhelming bills, and to support his mother and father during this trying time. To help make ends meet; Mark and Barb had to already sell off one of their top dogs, and are in the process of selling another one. Mark also had to give up more of his independence by giving his truck back to the bank; because they couldn’t afford the monthly payments.

To give you a little history; Mark is a Pencrest Alumni (1975), and an avid hunter and fisherman. Mark has devoted most of his life to the sportsmanship of hunting, showing, and breeding dogs; which was passed down from his father Howard Worrell. Mark has produced some of the best hunting and show dogs in the USA; starting with redbone coonhounds. (Dual State Champion Night Champion Hyner Mountain Mary and Champion Hyner Mountain Maggie). Then he moved onto working with beagles and has produced several top dogs still present in the beagle hunting world. (Performance Champion-Champion Hunting and Champion Show Beagle Mandy, and her mother Candy—Grand Performance Pack Grand Show and Grand Hunting Champion). During this difficult time there are only two hardships weighing on Mark’s mind; one is who will look after his family, and the second is knowing he can’t run his dogs.

During the course of his treatment, Mark’s immune system will be seriously compromised, he will be exhausted, and he will experience periods of extreme nausea and weight loss.  As a result, Mark is unable to work and most importantly to him (as anyone who knows him) hunt, run his dogs, and fish. This means that Mark will have no way to pay for rent, utilities, food, pet care, or any other normal expense.  So, not only does Mark have to worry about paying his medical bills, he also has to worry about paying his and his families basic living expenses.

Below is a quote from one of his hunting family members:

“As many of you know Mark is an outstanding guy. I know of one particular instance a young lady was very interested in beagles and the trials. With the young ladies parents’ permission Mark purchased the girl a beagle pup and side by side they trained the pup together, until it was ready for the trials”.

To all family, friends and anyone interested in helping. We set up this go fund me page to help with the cost to fight this dreaded disease. The family is overwhelmed with their expenses which have already accumulated very rapidly. Anything you could help with would be greatly appreciated! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for any assistance you could provide to help ease my uncle's mind---even Prayers!!!!! Plenty of Prayers!!!!!
