My wife's father, Rolando Sistoso my father-in-law has developed an illness which is still not fully diagnosed. He is being released from a three-day hospital stay where they performed an ultrasound on him and found a spot on his liver about the size of around a quarter.
He had to travel away from his home to get this procedure done and needs to have a biopsy performed but the hospital he is leaving cannot do that so he must go to another hospital that can do it.
Right now, some pain medication he's been getting is keeping him from feeling discomfort. He can continue on that medication for a time but it's not the resolve needed.
He and his family ( that's my wife Bella in the photo with him from back in 2011, the last time she's seen him in person ) live in a very small, rural province in the Philippines. They are the typical family from the area of Baroy, Lanao del Norte. Living on what he can earn going to the sea fishing on his small boat.
Nothing nearby is able to help his medical needs, so he must go to a bigger city for any care and for further diagnosis. With a couple of family members to accompany him, he is leaving from Iligan City back home ( Lanao del Norte ) but needs to travel to Cagayan de Oro, where the hospital there can do the needed biopsy and determine his medical needs moving forward.
The money that Bella and I were able to send was depleted when the bill from the hospital from Iligan City was given to him early today. They have only enough left to get home. He should be headed to Cagayan de Oro now, instead, they will need to go home.
Simply put, we need financial help so he can travel to Cagayan de Oro ( CDO ) and get the needed tests' done to move forward and find out what the bigger picture is.
Rolando is a loving father and husband and his family are doing all they can there in the Philippines to get him where he needs to be and making sure he is a comfortable as possible.
Funding his needs are going to fall on Bella and me, so we ask if you can help to please do so.
Right now, I just need to get this started as he needs to get to CDO and have testing done ASAP!
