Ethan’s Medical Bills

As many of you know, Ethan Bennett was admitted to Brenner Children’s Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC on Friday, August 27, 2023.

Ethan is a happy easy going 3 month old who joined his two older brothers in late May. He has been strong and healthy as Megan and Nick settled into life with 3 boys.

Early Friday morning he woke up with a fever and feeling fussy. Megan took him to the pediatrician as soon as they opened. They tested him for all the normal things and sent her home with the instructions that if he seemed worse to go to the emergency room. Later that morning, Meg noticed, what she thought, was blood in his diaper. She rushed him to the ER.

After a long afternoon of tests and a fever that just kept getting higher, he was diagnosed with Bacterial Meningitis.

After the initial 72 hours, he is stable. He still has a pretty high fever and clearly doesn’t feel well. He will, however, have to stay in the hospital at least 3 weeks.

Everyone always asks what they can do to help. If I’m being frank, what they really need is prayers and donations. This is going to be very expensive. As Meg and Nick own their own two man company, the business will not be bringing in new money for a while.

They need any help you are willing to provide to help with medical bills and everyday expenses over the next few weeks and months.
