Support the Harowicz Fam & Ed's Cancer Fight

Donation protected
Backstory:
After a month of having what was thought to be a pinched nerve, Ed went into the ER on May 22, 2018 due to some concerning escalated stroke-like symptoms. A CT scan and MRI found the cause: there was a pretty good size mass in the right side of Ed’s brain.
On May 24, 2018 he was in surgery to have the tumor removed. Unfortunately, the diagnosis is not good, Ed has grade-4 glioblastoma, a very aggressive brain cancer. Ed has been bravely taking on this challenge with the love and support of his family and friends, and he and his family plan to fight this beast with whatever resources and treatments are recommended and available. They continue to be hopeful and live in faith that Ed will have many months and years of clear scans, but the sad reality is that this form of cancer is terminal, as there are always residual cancerous cells trying to invade healthy brain tissue.

Ed has gone through a very aggressive treatment process with a lot of highs and lows: radiation, chemotherapy, Optune therapy, and finding balance with these treatments and their nasty side effects. Due to mental and physical setbacks like loss of sensation and strength in his left hand and arm, and cognitive issues, Ed has not been able to return to work. This has been an incredibly stressful and financially difficult time for the Harowicz family, and is expected to be a continual challenge in the future.

Needs:
We are asking for your assistance in raising money to help the Harowicz family with the following:

●  Cost of medical expenses not covered by insurance. They are still paying for 2018, and 2019 will add up quickly.

●  Future experimental and clinical trials that could extend the family’s time together but might not be covered by insurance.

●  Continued Care/College Fund for the boys. Ed is particularly concerned with the future of his family at a time that he feels the least able to provide.

●  Most of the families’ excess money saved for vacations or family time has been diverted to medical expenses. We hope to be able to raise enough so they can go somewhere or have some family time away from the stresses of home.

What You Can Do:
As dear friends of the Harowicz family, we wanted to show our support by setting up this page to help them offset the medical expenses, combined with the loss of income that they are facing. Please consider supporting Ed and Jenn with a financial gift so that they can keep their focus on treatment, recovery and family time. Thank you in advance for your support! Please feel free to share and re-post this on your social media sites.
