Hello family and friends,
It is with heavy-hearted that I am here asking for donations to help cover the cost of Akossiwa's funeral. We need to raise $20,000.00 by 05/26/2023 in order to be able to afford the funeral service.
Akossiwa Anani Mekle was born a daughter to Adjoa Koula and Gozan Anani-Mekle. She was born December 4, 1960, in Lome, Togo. Akossiwa has two children, her daughter Akouvi Bedzra who resides in the United States, and her son Armand Digoh who resides in Lome, Togo.
Akossiwa moved from Togo to the United States in 2010 with her daughter to join her husband Kossi who was residing in the States. Unfortunately, he passed in 2018.
Here in the U.S. Akossiwa has lived in many states and has joined many communities. She spent most of her years in Illinois and Iowa where she was surrounded by a large African community and made many beautiful friendships. In 202, Akossiwa was first diagnosed with metastatic cancer, and with prayer, she successfully beat cancer. Unfortunately, the cancer came back in 2023 ten times stronger and Akossiwa lost her battle. Although she was not ready to go, God has called her to come home. Her family mourns her life and her joyful presence. To send her away we would like to have a funeral for her if you can donate any funds toward her funeral and towards her family at this time. It would greatly be appreciated.
Thank you,
Family of Akossiwa Anani- Mekle
