On Monday December 21st Amanda, Chris and their 4 children came to Nova Scotia to spend Christmas with family. Two days later their youngest child, three month old Wyatt, had a seizure and stopped breathing. The paramedics brought him to the IWK where he stopped breathing again. Wyatt has now been in the hospital for a week. He is having over 40 seizures a day which are increasing in length and has stopped breathing an additional four times. Wyatt's MRI is very abnormal. His brain beside a healthy brain looks much different and no doctor at the IWK has a diagnosis but they do know it is a progressive brain disease. The only information they have is the situation Wyatt is in is very serious and rare and that he has limited time. Amanda and Chris have been told Wyatt will be at the IWK for a long period of time but again do not know the exact answer to this either.
This whole families world has been flipped upside down. They are not able to return to their home in Ontario and came here with only a few outfits each, a winter coat and a pair of shoes as they thought they were only going to be here for 10 days. Amanda is unable to continue with her job at home. The older girls are not able to continue with their swimming lessons, martial arts or gymnastics. They do not have any of there school things, toys or belongings. They have a house and all their bills in Ontario. They also need to get there van here so everyone can fit in a vehicle and have daily parking to pay at the IWK.
We will give updates as we get more answers. Thank you everyone for your love, support, kind words, prayers and donations.
