Our beloved Bubba (Larry Kline) has begun a difficult battle. In May, he landed in the hospital with pain on his right side. It was not identified exactly what was causing the pain. The following week, he had an MRI of his abdomen and was told it was very likely liver cancer but they needed to do a biopsy which is intrusive and painful. While they were waiting on results from the biopsy, Bubba took at fall at home when his blood sugar bottomed out. This was the beginning of a 6 day hospital stay, several MRI’s, X-rays and CT scans. He was diagnosed with stage IV liver cancer as well as a broken vertebrae. The cancer has metastasized / spread to his vertebrae. Chemo is not effective for liver cancer so he has begun immuno therapy infusions every three weeks. So far he’s only had one.

With the amount of pain he is in, along with the rapidly spreading cancer, he has difficulty walking and cannot do anything (including eating and drinking) without assistance. For this reason, his wife Lara has taken a leave of absence from her job to care for him.

As you can imagine, between mounting medical bills and no current employment income, as well as 24 hour care, his treatment costs are a significant worry going forward.

Bubba and Lara are not ones to ask for help but are the very first to help others in times of need. Now it is our turn to support them in this battle. We are asking our friends and family to donate any amount towards Bubba’s medical expenses.

The road ahead of Larry is uncertain, for both the short and long term. Larry and Lara very much appreciate your prayers, love, messages, visits and any financial assistance they receive.

As I (Lara’s sister, Karen) finish writing this tonight, Larry landed in the hospital again this morning 7/7/22. It is unclear how long he will be there and what the treatment plan will be. He is quite weak and is also somewhat confused. We are hoping the acute care provided will help him overall so he can return home soon.
