My Family Need your Help

Hello friends & family,

I want to share a little about my family. My sister was raised in Ojai since she was 6 years old, we live in the east end, she moved to Las Vegas with her husband at the age of 18 and has lived there ever since. My other siblings also moved to Las Vegas. We all went to San Antonio, Matilija, and then Nordhoff- The boys graduated from Nordhoff and us girls from Chaparral. Our father is the main head cook of Boccalis and I am a Medical Assistant for small clinic in Ojai. Our mother was injured in her 40’s and has been a SAHM ever since. You have met us at some point or another I hope.

It breaks my heart to pieces to share this with my community, but I am in hopes to help my family. In late June of this year, my nephew was diagnose with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. When he walked into the ER for a severe nasal infection, turned out to be the day that changed our entire lives, especially his. He has been going through intensive treatments of chemo and immunology. Doctors in Las Vegas working hard for my nephew to get him into remission in order to get him the bone marrow transplant at USC NORRIS CANCER CENTER. He was very close as well, he was at 20% lymphoblastic and suddenly they went from 20% to 97% and the doctors in Las Vegas said there was nothing else that can be done and he had to pack overnight and head to USC emergency room. It is expected for my nephew to stay at USC for 4-6 months, my sister and brother in law are blue collar workers and have been working tirelessly to prepare as much as they can for medical costs. They are unable to leave work for long period of time in order to be by his side. They will be traveling endlessly over the next few months. Deductibles, bills, travel expense are beginning to pile up. I am in hopes we can help them out as much as possible with donations to them. I will be working in the near future to assist them myself and family with fund raising events. Quiero compartir un poco sobre mi familia. Mi hermana se crió en Ojai desde que tenía 6 años, vivimos en el extremo este, se mudó a Las Vegas con su esposo a la edad de 18 años y ha vivido allí desde entonces. A fines de junio de este año, mi sobrino fue diagnosticado con leucemia linfoblástica aguda. Cuando ingresó a la sala de emergencias por una infección nasal grave, resultó ser el día que cambió nuestras vidas por completo, especialmente la suya. Ha estado pasando por tratamientos intensivos de quimioterapia e inmunología.
