In July 2020, Dan was diagnosed with Stage 4 liver disease. Throughout the winter of 2020-2021, he was in and out of the hospital multiple times as his body reacted to foods and medications. Local doctors have said a liver transplant is his only option. Dan would like to travel to other facilities out of state to seek alternative treatment options.

For years, Dan has struggled with depression, anxiety, and failed back surgeries all of which had him on cocktails of medications for extended period of times. All of those medications have to process through the liver. We have since researched a number of the medications he has been on for years and learned that they can be very difficult on the liver. In addition to medications he has on occasion struggled with obesity and was diagnosed a few years prior with what we were told was the beginning of fatty liver disease. Years ago, he had struggles with alcohol. All of this combined has gotten him to where he is today.

Dan grew up working in the garage with his dad, which I believe led to his passion for classic cars. Classic cars, muscle cars, and not to forget specifically Pontiac; and drag racing. Dan spent most of his career in auto parts, where he was able to help people and talk cars. He couldn’t remember to do this I asked, but ask him for a car part number and he is likely able to rattle it off at you.

Dan has a heart of gold! He would give you the shirt off his back or the last penny he had if it would help you out. He always thinks of others and how he can help. He has a love for European football, and loves all things Tottenham Hotspurs.
