Allan Par: Homeless Immigrant Wants to Go Home
Where is home?
Canada or Philippines?
Allan Par, a 41 y.o. Filipino immigrant who built a shack for a temporary shelter, wants to go home, to his home country, the Philippines.
He faces uncertainties after a nine-year stay in Winnipeg alone without relatives.
Felt depressed by some events, like the passing of his father in the Philippines last year when he could not go home because of financial constraints and without home of his own, and wanted to be self-supporting, he was able to build a shack made of wooden pallets and found this place as his temporary home.
As days go by, when many good people are dropping by water, food, clothing and some amenities, and some job offers, Allan wishes to thank everyone and for those who helped him and visited him in his shack. Allan's final plan is to go the Philippines.
When asked why he has to go back home to the Philippines , he answered ” I have a traumatic life here and I just want to go home”. Alan used to work as social worker and had a college education back in the Philippines.
The money donated will be used to pay for a one way trip back for Allan to the Philippines and some cash for his adjustments when he arrives and start his new life in the Philippines.
Thank you for any contribution you can make to our goal.
