On September 19th, our lives were turned upside down when Tom — the love of my mother-in-law’s life and “Papa” to our children — was admitted to the hospital after passing out. What we thought might be something minor quickly became our worst fear. Within just 10 days, doctors discovered that Tom has stage 4 cancer that has spread everywhere.
Tom is now on hospice care. He can no longer see, and he is very weak. Our family is cherishing every moment we have left with him, but the reality of what’s ahead is overwhelming.
Tom has been a loving partner, and a great papa to the 5 grandkid he leaves behind and 1 great granddaughter on he way that we good he gets to meet. His greatest wish is to stay with us, even after he’s gone. To honor that, my mother-in-law is hoping to have him cremated so that he can always remain at home, surrounded by the love of his family.
Unfortunately, the cost of cremation is more than she can manage on her own. We are reaching out with heavy hearts, asking for help to give Tom the dignity he deserves and to ease the burden on the woman who has loved him so deeply.
Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward covering cremation expenses. If you’re unable to give, we simply ask that you share this page and keep our family in your prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you for helping us honor Tom’s life and keep him close to those who love him most.
