Hi! My name is Chris and I am asking for help in support of one of my dearest friends who has been in treatment for cancer. Emily is one of the most selfless people I have ever met in this world. Despite her situation, she has been a light and support system for so many, including myself. The expense of treatment, hotels, and all of this is more than any of us could do on our own. It’s my mission to make sure she doesn’t have to try to do this alone. Thank you to everyone for anything you can do. Everything is appreciated so much!!! Followed is a bit of Em’s story and journey.

I am 29 years old and a single mama. I have stage four metastatic triple negative breast cancer. It has spread to many of my organs, my spinal fluid (CSF), and a lot of my skeleton/bones. I typically receive chemotherapy systemically every week as well as intrathecal chemo through a lumbar puncture into my spinal fluid. Right now, I am out of town seeking daily proton therapy treatments to try and be aggressive and target my brain, spine, and spinal fluid. When I return to Buffalo, I will be starting a clinical trial.

As time passes, more and more expenses are accruing, especially as I seek treatments outside of WNY as well as integrative therapies. However, I want to exhaust every single option possible to give my body the best chance at healing. My son deserves his mama.

Cancer has taken and changed so much of my life, but it can’t steal my hope. Keep going, no matter what.
