Dear Family and Friends,

My nephew, Jacob and his partner, Riley, recently welcomed their very unexpected baby, Millie whilst Riley was at the start of her Junior year at Mississippi State and Jacob continued his work as an HVAC technician at home in Ohio where she would return after graduation. Though shocked, they are hanging strong together as they navigate their journey.

From Riley:

"As most of y’all know, on October 28th Jacob and I received the biggest surprise. We found out we were going to be parents and soon after our sweet Miller Rose was born at 25 weeks. The past 2 weeks have been filled with every emotion. We absolutely adore our girl. Millie still has a lot of growing to do before she can come home but she is so strong. We are so proud to be her parents."

Little Millie was transported by helicopter to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis to receive the very specialized care she needs. We are grateful that the FedEX Family House across the street is providing a welcoming and supportive place for Riley. Jacob is making the weekly 14 hr round trip to be with his girls on the weekends, which means they're facing the costs of travel and meals away.

It's not clear how long Millie and Riley will remain in Memphis before they can return to Ohio and begin their time together as a family.
