Hello all!
My name is Isa Berardo, I'm 21 years old and I identify as non-binary. I came out a few years ago after a life of confusion and discomfort in my own body. Finding the language, support, and encouragement to pursue my gender identity, I have been privileged to express my gender identity and begin living a life that truly feels like my most authentic self.
That being said, while I am attempting to live my most authentic self, the body I continue to do it in doesn't feel like mine. For years I have had a fraught connection to my breasts. On my best days, I can sometimes ignore them, a sort of begrudging co-habitation. On my worst days the anxiety, dysphoria, and discomfort is enough to force me relegated to my bed, terrified of getting dressed or going outside, often triggering anxiety and depression.
Pursuing gender-affirming top surgery is my pursuit of feeling at home in my body. I don't currently have a date set for surgery, but have an upcoming consultation with a Dr. at the end of October. I am privileged to have some portion of the surgery covered through insurances, however, there is still a large majority that I will be having to pay out of pocket.
Any and all donations are so appreciated. Even sharing and circulating would be huge. Thank you so much for any and all support.
