Hillsong Internship!
Donation protected
Dear friends and family,
It is now my turn to raise support! As most of you know on Sunday mornings the family and I have been going to Hillsong Church and serving in the children’s ministry. It’s amazing! The kids are so much fun and the friends we’ve met are out of this world. Therefore, I have seriously prayed about this and feel like God has called me to do an internship after graduation with Hillsong South Africa. The internship is giving a year of my life to serving the Lord. During the year of the internship, I will have weekly devotions with the other interns and also attend Bible college and teaching sessions in order to help grow in my relationship with Him. Also, we get to help in the everyday life of the church like planning events and help set up for Sunday mornings. On Sunday’s we will serve in the mornings, but also at the night services. I haven’t quite decided whether I want to serve in the children’s ministry or on the worship team, although I am leaning more towards serving in the children’s ministry. However, in order to do the internship I need YOUR help! The internship cost R6,000, which is approximately $420! Here’s the catch though, since I’m doing an internship at Hillsong South Africa and the drive is a little far for my parents to drive me there 3 or more days a week, I’m going to need a CAR! That’s scary! Yes, I know, but I really think I could do it. In January, I will be old enough to drive here so I’m almost there! I have a budgeted for a car and I am staying in between R50,000 to R60,000 ($3,500 to $4,100). We have budgeted about R2,000 ($150) for gas a month, and then food/pocket money. Since I live in South Africa on a Volunteer VISA it does not allow me to have a job here. I would love to be able to work, but since I cannot it is why I am asking for your support. In Jeremiah 29:11, it says “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” I know this is a lot to ask for but I truly believe that if this is God’s plan for my life then He will provide for me. He has done it many times before I know He can do it again. I would like you to please pray about whether you would like to have an even bigger impact on my life. A lot of you have already had a HUGE impact on me. If you cannot give financially I totally understand, and that doesn’t mean you can’t still have an impact on my life. I am ALWAYS accepting prayer! You can never have too much prayer. Especially, as a young adult who is trying to find her ways in the world. Thank you so very much for everything! I am very thankful for every one of you, and I love you all very much.
Much love,
Emily Townsend
