Thanks For the Mammaries

I lost my Mom to an aggressive form of breast cancer, so as soon as I was able to, I got tested.  I tested positive for the brca1 gene mutation that puts me at incredibly high risk for breast (87%) and ovarian (54%) cancer.  I had a hysterectomy with ovary removal in July 2019.  I had a preventative double mastectomy in October 2019. I'm blessed with insurance, but I have a high deductible to be able to afford the premium.  We're basically still paying off the deductible from last year, and the deductible re-upped in January 2020. This next surgery is my first reconstructive surgery. I am NOT getting implants. I have too many friends who were made sick by theirs. I am having a DIEP flap, which rebuilds my chest using my own fat and tissue. I can't get that done in CD'A, so I'm having it done in Seattle where my mastectomy surgeons are. We've had some unforeseen expenses arise for this possible week-long stay in Seattle. We're thankful for all the help and encouragement we've received so far! If you're able to help with the expenses involved with this next phase of my attempt to return to "normal", or if you can share this post, we'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
