Chad's Medical Bills

Donation protected
On Feb 11th, Chad was coming home from work and fell on the front steps of his family home where he lives with his wife and 2 kids. He was initially unable to move and quickly his family called 911. He was rushed to Reading Hospital and they found a fracture, spinal disc injury, and a spinal cord injury. He had surgery on Feb 12th to correct the injuries sustained from the fall. He was in the ICU at Reading for 13 days in total before being released to an inpatient rehab center through Tower Health. He has since been there and is improving but it will be a long process. He is relying on people feeding, drinking, getting dressed, and all daily life activities at this point. He is doing remarkably better and is in a wheelchair constantly. Fine motor skills are being worked on. He currently had minimal usage for his hands, arms, legs, and feet. He can feel everything but will need to learn how to use his limbs again with a lot of inpatient therapy followed by home and outpatient therapy. At this point already the medical bills are extremely high for the family and a great burden.

A background on Chad, he has been a volunteer firefighter for 30+ years now. He currently running with the Shillington Fire department for 10+ years now where his daughter is also an active firefighter. Chad is a daily staffer for ensuring that the trucks get out during the day to calls as well. The Firehouse is one of his passions and an extended part of his family. Chad and his wife Melissa have been happily married for 13 years now and she is holding down the fort at home. Bobbie (22) and Gavin (12) are their 2 children. Bobbie recently came back from deployment with the Army and is assisting in every way possible. Chad was helping her settle into her first home when his accident occurred. Gavin is in intermediate school and avid in the boy scouts. Chad was a huge part of his interest in boy scouts and we all know is excited to get back to camping with him and the troop when he is better.

Any help towards his medical bills to take some of the burdens of the family will be greatly appreciated.
