Horse-drawn carriages are exploitative and cruel. This industry commodifies horses' bodies, labour and lives for human profit. Those who own or operate horse-drawn carriage companies enrich themselves by objectifying and harming horses.*
Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario not only permits this animal cruelty to take place in its streets, but proudly boasts about this exploitation.
A large number of concerned citizens have committed to ending this antiquated and unjust practice in their community. They oppose the use and operation of horse-drawn carriages in Niagara-on-the-Lake and throughout the Niagara Region in various ways. This includes by street-level protest, addressing Town and Reginal Council, and more.
This group of independent activists are heroes for these horse victims. And they need our help saving these horses from the vile carriage industry that entraps them.
Your generous donation will allow these activists to create compelling signage, have informative leaflets printed for distribution to the public, purchase materials for large and/or thematic demonstrations, and more. By funding these valuable resources, you will help raise public awareness about the cruelty of horse-drawn carriages and apply pressure to the appropriate decision-making bodies in pursuit of a Region-wide ban on their operation in this community.
These horses need us! We are their voice! We hope that you will participate in this progressive social justice movement and help us save these horses!
